Amy Duong

VP External

Amy Duong is a recruiter at MAQ Consulting.  She graduated from the University of Washington in sociology.  She led own Ronald McDonald event, which fed 100 people.  Her hobbies include volunteering, eating out at new restaurants, and watching cooking shows.

Of NAAAP-Seattle, she said, "I'm very passionate about the mission of NAAAP and want to help the organization grow."  In 2010-2011, she served as NAAAP-Seattle’s Student Relations Chair.

Amy's hometown is Seattle.  

Brittany Ryerson

Marketing

Brittany Ryerson is a marketing specialist with MicroVision, Inc. Currently enrolled in an online sociology program at University of Utah, she graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles with her degree in Digital Media. She currently takes an interest in event design and management with hopes to soon launch her own entrepreneurial endeavor.

Of NAAAP - Seattle, she said, "NAAAP - Seattle has launched me into the professional realm of my life. I am now able to network easily with a variety of people from different backgrounds and companies, which has been extremely beneficial for a recent college grad."

Brittany's hometown is Salt Lake City, Utah and has lived in Seattle since 2010.

Claire Ke Ding

Board at Large

Claire Ding is an Account Manager at iSoftStone. She is from China and graduated from University of Washington with a M.S. in Information Management.She is also the VP of Events at Seattle Entrepreneurship Club. She enjoys organizing events related with professional development and entrepreneurship. In 2012, she will focus on the Women in NAAAP (aka WIN!) program. 

Of NAAAP-Seattle, she said, “I have gained a lot by serving on the board: expanding network, building leadership and organizational skills, learning from other board members and being mentored.”

Claire’s hometown is Guiyang, China and has lived in Seattle since 2007. 

Eugene Ngai

Student Relations

Eugene Ngai is a System Integration Consulting Analyst at Accenture. He graduated cum laude from the University of Washington in Chemical Engineer and had won a department scholarship. His hobbies include playing tennis, soccer, the piano, reading, and hiking.

At NAAAP-Seattle, he said, “I want to develop additional leadership, networking, and professional development skills. I also want to learn how a professional board operates and functions together. I’m part of a team which shares the same purposes/goals to connect Asian Americans in the Seattle community.”

His hometown is Hong Kong and he has lived in Seattle since 2002.

Hang Chen

National Liaison

Hang Chen is an Structural Analysis Engineer at Boeing and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. At Boeing, he served as president of Boeing Asian Pacific Professional Association from 2009 to 2010. He enjoys reading, snowboarding, traveling, exploring, and creating new things.

He said he joined NAAAP-Seattle because, “I wanted to create a better tomorrow for myself and the community.” In 2009-2010, he served as Professional Development Chair and chaired the West Coast launch of Women in NAAAP (WIN!) Conference in 2011.

Hang’s hometown is Baton Rouge, Louisiana and he has lived in Seattle since 2005.

Heidi Yu

Social

Heidi Yu is a business development manager at iSoftStone and she graduated from Seattle University with a Masters of Business Administration. She has her own company www.pocomaru.com which brings the fashion and innovation to Apple gadgets. Her goal is "delivering WOW to her customers".  She is an entrepreneur and high-profile connector. She loves to help everyone to get connected.

Of NAAAP-Seattle, Heidi said, “NAAAP Seattle is great culture bridge that connecting my Aisan roots together with American education, career, and life. It is a great place to develop the WOW of yourself. With the great passion of life, everything is possible. We continue learning and self-improving, we will explore the unknown excellence of ourselves."

Heidi’s hometown is Chengdu, China and she has lived in Seattle since 2005.

Howard Wu

Community Service

Howard Wu owns a civil engineering urban/transportation consulting firm and studied architecture at Washington University in St. Louis. He graduated from the University of Washington with a Master of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Urban Planning with a focus on urban design. He has hiked Machu Pichu, completed the STP and RSVP bike rides, summit Mt. Adams, and reestablishing Boston's chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

At NAAAP-Seattle, he said, “I want to provide our members an outlet for giving back to the local Asian American community and to have opportunities for developing new skills and network with fellow professionals in a collaborative setting.”

Howard’s hometown is Cherry Hill, NJ and he has lived in Seattle since 1999. 

James Wong

Membership

James Wong is an accountant at Univar USA Inc and graduated from Central Washington University in Business Accounting. He also volunteers with Asian Counseling and Referral Services and Hopelink. He served as Communication Chair in student government in college. He enjoys West Coast Swing. 

Of NAAAP-Seattle, he said, “I joined to serve my community of young professionals and to further build leadership skills.”

James’ hometown is Seattle.

Janet Shen

Technology

Janet Shen is a technical support specialist at Tableau Software and graduated from the University of Washington in Business Information Systems. She was a finalist for the Foster School of Business’ Boeing Case Competition finalist. She has also volunteered with Operation Sack Lunch, Kaboom, Vietnamese Student Association, Pakistani Student Association, and University Food Bank.

At NAAAP-Seattle, she said, “I want to develop my budding skills in web design and spec gathering.”

Janet’s hometown is Pincourt, Montreal and she has lived in Seattle since 1996.

Julie Pham

Board at Large

Julie Pham is a marketing consultant with Sirius 6 Corp. at Microsoft. She founded Sea Beez, a capacity-building program for Seattle's ethnic media. She graduated magna cum laude from University of California, Berkeley in history and earned her PhD at Cambridge University as a Gates Cambridge Scholar. She was named to the 2011 Puget Sound Business Journal’s “40 under 40” business leaders list.

Of NAAAP-Seattle, she said, “I am energized by the passion, dedication, and intelligence of my fellow board members in our pursuit of fulfilling our mission of leadership development in the local Asian American community.”  In 2010-2011, she served as NAAAP-Seattle’s PR/Marketing Chair.

Julie’s hometown is Seattle.
 

Kevin Chang

President

Kevin Chang is a traffic engineer for King County and graduated from the University of Washington with a PhD in Civil Engineering - Transportation.  While at the University of Washington, he named the school mascot, “Harry the Husky.”  Kevin has hosted a college alumni golf tournament, which he founded, for the last ten years and also serves as President of the Washington State Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE).

Kevin joined NAAAP-Seattle because it “was an opportunity to actively engage and participate in the local community, and to learn more about myself and the world around me”.  In 2010-2011, he served as NAAAP-Seattle’s Membership Chair.

Kevin grew up on the The Palouse.
 

Lily Li

Treasurer 

Lily Li graduated from Wake Forest university with a masters degree in accounting and has interned as an internal auditor in Time Warner Inc. She enjoys badminton, movies, cooking, reading and board games.


Of NAAAP-Seattle, she said, “I love this community and want to contribute to the community and develop leadership skills.”

Lily’s hometown is Longkou,China and has lived in Seattle since 2011.

Louisa Lambert

Scholarship

Louisa Lambert is a paralegal at Lee Smart and she graduated from New York University in Broadcast Journalism. From 2005-2008, she hosted a television show, “Talk Vietnam,” on national Vietnamese television. She has interviewed Bill Gates and President Bill Clinton.

At  NAAAP-Seattle, she said, “I want to get more involved with a great organization and the Asian American Community in Seattle.”

Her hometown is Seattle.

Michael Okimura

Professional Development

Michael Okimura is a Financial Advisor at ING Financial Partners and graduated from the University of Washington. He also volunteers with the American Cancer Society, Mercer Island Chamber of Commerce, Mercer Island Boys & Girls Club. He coaches Little League Baseball.

At NAAAP-Seattle, he said, “I want to learn leadership and management skills and network.” From year –year, Michael served as NAAAP-Seattle secretary.

Michael’s hometown is Mercer Island. 

Mingxing (Star) TU

Secretary

Mingxing Tu is an MPA candidate in Evans School of Public Affairs in University of Washington. She's also an intern media consultant for City of Bellevue and Editor-in-chief of a Bellevue-China blog. Before relocating to Seattle, she worked as a journalist for the Beijing News and 21st Century Business Herald.

At NAAAP-Seattle, she said, "I hope to contribute my learning in public administration study and my previous experiences to serve the community"

Mingxing's hometown is Shanghai, China and has lived in Seattle since 2009.

 
 

Sherwin Tsao

VP Internal

Sherwin Tsao is an analyst for Guidant Financial Group and he graduated from the University of Washington. Sherwin literally grew up in his parents' restaurant, which sparked an interest in entrepreneurship. In high school he started a business for online classified ads (right before Craigslist created Craigslist-Seattle).

Of NAAAP-Seattle, Sherwin said, “My favorite thing about NAAAP is volunteering. I hope to both continue and expand the impact NAAAP has on both its members and the community in general.” In 2011, Sherwin served as NAAAP-Seattle’s Technology Chair.

Sherwin’s hometown is Bellingham and he has lived in Seattle since 2001. 
 

Long Vo

Business Development

Long Vo is an Event Consultant at BECU specializing in business development, business networking, and corporate partnerships.  Since moving to Washington at the age of 4, he has been an active member of the Seattle community as a passionate volunteer at multiple organizations, a former small business owner, and a proud Husky.  He is an active Pacific Northwesterner who kayaks and hikes in the summer, snowboards in the winter, and drinks coffee all year round.

Of NAAAP-Seattle, Long said, "I want to see this organization increase in membership and reputation so the Asian American community in greater Seattle can always have a NAAAP as a resource for professional, business, and social development."
