Professional Development Chair
- Work
closely with Fundraising Committee Chair to ensure meeting the
sponsor’s expectations to plan Professional Development Events.
- Survey
and gather ideas from members and board to informed with the needs
of working professionals in the area
- Plan
and organize workshops or seminars or events to educate, and/or to
explore areas that will promote career attainment and advancement
- Invite
speakers, find venues, and facilitate such events/workshops/seminars
- Draft
text for email broadcasts for professional development events
- Community Service Chair
- The main responsibility of
the community service chair is to ensure that the NAAAP-Seattle
chapter “engage and participate with the community-at-large and
inspire leaders to make a meaningful difference in government,
education, business, and society”.
- Maintain the vision of the
NAAAP-Seattle community service events, which are designed to
promote community interaction with our members and to actively
participate as a group. The goal is to participate in a broad range
of community service events as a group but with a spotlight on
events that assist and promote the Asian communities.

Provides a variety of volunteer opportunities and
other events to help engage NAAAP-Seattle members in community
outreach efforts. This includes developing a yearly schedule for
the community service events.
- Develop
and maintain contacts with the various communities in the
metropolitan Seattle/Bellevue area with a focus on the local Asian
communities.
- Meet the responsibilities
of the general Board including attending monthly Board meetings,
submitting monthly progress reports, attending the annual retreat,
and submitting a yearly budget.
- Major On-going community
involvement include:

Habitat for Humanity: NAAAP-Seattle usually
participates in one or two Habitat for Humanity job sites annually.

SCIDpda; NAAAP-Seattle participates in the SCIDpda
Chinatown-International District/ Little Saigon Spring Clean-up annually.
- City of Seattle: NAAAP-Seattle participates in
the City of Seattle Adopt-a-Street program, which includes four clean-ups
annually.
- Asian Counseling and Referral Service (ACRS): NAAAP-Seattle
participates in three ACRS related events: the ACRS Walk for Rice event, the
ACRS annual gala, and NAAAP-Seattle host a Toy Drive to benefit ACRS.
- Inter*Im: NAAAP-Seattle
plans a volunteer landscaping/clean-up event for the Denny Woo
Garden, which is own by Inter*Im.

- Social Committee Chair
- Provide opportunities for
networking and recruitment of new members
- Organize monthly social
activities

Delegate aspects of activities to subcommittees

Present board with a detailed plan for major social activity at least
one month prior to event
iii. At least 2 social activities per
year should be in conjunction with one other Asian professional organization

- The NAAAP-Seattle Webmaster
is responsible for maintaining and improving the NAAAP-Seattle
website:
http://www.naaapseattle.org.
- NAAAP-Seattle's web
interface and backend are inherited from NAAAP National, and each
chapter webmaster works closely with the NAAAP Technology chair to
plan technology improvements for the organization nationwide.
- Every week, the webmaster
distributes e-mail to the 1500+ members of the NAAAP-Seattle mailing
list to inform the active community about events, news, and chapter
announcements.
- Our chapter continues to
look for ways to improve NAAAP-Seattle's community outreach through
digital communication.
- Newsletter Chair
- Review
and edit articles for suitability and work with newsletter team to
release quarterly publications

Coordinate with Newsletter Team, and Marketing/PR, Community
Service, Professional Development Chairs and additional Board
members as needed to include articles relevant to NAAAP mission,
vision and values
- Manage
budget, set deadlines, and report to Board on progress of
